Our adventure began the moment we arrived in Corsica where ANIMA II awaited us in full splendour in the harbour of Saint-Florent, with radiant underwater lighting. We were immediately impressed, and our excitement grew as we boarded.

Our cabin was very spacious, so we could easily stow our luggage. With bathroom and toilet en suite! It doesn’t get more comfortable than this. We have rarely slept as well as on this boat.
Setting Sail for La Spezia and beyond
The next morning, we set our course for La Spezia on the Italian coast. Thankfully, our skilled skipper, made sure we didn’t have to rise at the crack of dawn to help with casting off, but we eagerly did so anyway. We just wanted to soak in every moment of this experience.
Our route took us northwest through the Bay of Genoa, along the stunning Côte d’Azur, until we reached our final destination in Menton.
Markus, my husband, couldn’t help but marvel at the beauty of the coast. He said, “Look at the landscape, isn’t it fantastic, …this coast…I know I’m repeating myself, but just look…”. Yes, it was indeed something truly unique.
Dolphins and Serene Evenings
As if the breathtaking scenery weren’t enough, we were treated to the sight of dolphins on several occasions, swimming alongside our boat for a short but unforgettable time.
The weather was perfect for early October, with the sun shining throughout the week, even if the wind wasn’t s strong as we’d hoped for.
The cook, with her culinary expertise, whipped up delicious meals every day and the well-equipped kitchen made our dining experiences truly exceptional. Each evening, well-protected anchorages were selected, allowing us to enjoy the serene nights and starry skies on board.
Anima II has become a bit of our home during this week, and we find ourselves longing for the sea and the sun. We can’t wait for the next adventure!
